Meeting Notes
The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met January 23 & 24, 2009 for a two-day Garter Carriage workshop.
Karen Hughes led the workshop. Von DeLoach, Pat Lawson, Barbara Meloy, Ann Odom, Paige Petty all got great tips and help, and everyone finished the weekend with Garter Carriages clacking. Lanette Campbell of Pascagoula MS joined us Saturday, not really believing that she would get her G.C. working, but she was proven wrong by the end! Lanette formerly lived here and was an active member of this group. We hope to see more of her soon.
Jean, Dianne & Susan worked on other projects for the weekend. Kathy Reed, a newcomer to both the Pensacola area and machine knitting, joined us Saturday with her Bond machine and promptly whipped up a sweater back, and even did the ribbing!
The February meeting will be at Ann's house, February 28. Jean Herron of Ontario, who joins us in the winter months, will be demonstrating wire knitting on the machine, a topic that has been requested often since she showed us samples last year.
