Meeting Notes
The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met February 28, 2009 with Dianne Bayless, Susan Spencer, Barbara Meloy, Karen Hughes, Jean Neal, Pat Lawson, Paige Petty, Martha Lyle, Ann Odom, Jean Herron, and Von DeLoach in attendance.
Jean Herron of Ontario, who joins us in the winter months, agreed to demonstrate wire knitting on the machine. She brought many gorgeous samples of earrings, necklaces and bracelets made of wire. My photos simply can't do them justice. Many of the bracelet and necklace samples are simply i-cord braided together (though they aren't all typical braiding!) Jean showed us how to set up wire i-cord on the machine. It really is amazing that wire can be knit this way. NOTE: these samples were knit using 0.2 mm wire in 3 or 4 strands. Jean used 4 strands and let us knit to see how it feels on the machine - it's just fine!
March's meeting will be at Barbara's house March 21. She'll be demonstrating Design-A-Knit
HAPPY KNITTING!
